The Santee Cooper system replacement project is progressing on schedule. The geographically redundant switching centers with an initial 20 radio sites, the network management subsystem, and more than half of the dispatch console positions have been successfully tested and shipped to the field for installation. Coverage testing is ongoing with transition scheduled to begin soon.
The State of Michigan continues the replacement of its P25 public safety radio network. The four phase project will completely refresh the radio backbone equipment and provide an IP based MPLS microwave system. Phase 1 involving the southern part of the state was recently completed and the state is moving forward with the Phase 2 transition.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is now fully operational on the new statewide P25 LMR system called the Tennessee Advanced Communications Network (TACN). TACN continues to expand as other state agencies, such as Departments of Transportation and Health, and local government partners are added to the system.
